Eye Glass Pouch

Instructions

Pat Burns developed the following simple pattern to make an eyeglass pouch.  Use ¼” seams.

Using PRE-QUILTED FABRIC, cut a rectangle that measures 7 1/2” x 6 1/2”.

Bind the top edge (7 1/2” edge) with bias tape (or serge finish the raw edges).  Fold in half and stitch and bind down the side and across the bottom.   Or if you have a piece that measures 3 3/4” x 13”, bind the 3 3/4” edges and fold it end to end and stitch down each side.  Another alternative would be two pieces measuring 3 ¾” x 6 ½”.  Sew across the bottom edge, bind the top edges, then stitch down the sides.

If using a single layer of fabric, cut rectangle 7 1/2” x 13”.  With right sides together, fold so 7 ½” edges meet to form a rectangle that measures 7 1/2” x 6 1/2” and edge stitch across top.  Turn right side out.  Insert interfacing.  Fold in half and bind and sew down side and across bottom just like with pre-quilted fabric.
