ASG Members Teach Classes
We have many talented members that teach classes around the county. Here is a list of the teachers we know about with information on where and when they are teaching.
If you would like to be included in our list, you must be an ASG member. You will need to provide us with information on your classes. The information needs to include your name, where you are teaching and the dates. If you have a picture of your project that can also be added.

Private Instructor 760-436-0488. North County Coastal (Encinitas) teacher, private or small group beginner sewing lessons, in her home or clients'. Credentialled teacher with 50 years of sewing experience. Patient and encouraging. |
Nancy teaches sewing privately in her home or in a clients' home. She accept clients from ages 9 to 90! She specializes in small groups of young girls or teens and beginner instruction. She is currently teaching Summer Sewing Camp. For adult clients, she focuses on whatever their interests are: quilting basics; baby gifts; home decorating; clothing or alterations. She has taught in North County Coastal area for 5 years and has seen a tremendous increase in the number of young girls interested in sewing. Whereas 2/3 of her clients were adults a few years ago, now 2/3rds are 10-16!

Long-time seamstress and ASG member Mary Curry is announcing the opening of her Sewing School, Mary’s Creative Threads. Mary, is a Licensee of the Kids Can Sew & Fashions Design program. The Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design program is a line of simplified patterns with bold directional graphics and easy to following directions. The program, developed by Carolyn Curtis, includes beginning to advanced curriculum. Mary brings with her many different sewing experiences. She majored in Home Economics in college, and has taken many sewing class and seminars over the years; including Orange Coast College’s sewing workshops, ASG convention classes, and the Martha Pullen Heirloom sewing class offered at El Cajon Sew and Vac Mary has experience teaching both beginning and advanced sewing to adults and children. Some of her experiences include teaching at Stretch and Sew, various recreation programs, quilting classes, and hand embroidery classes. Mary is currently teaching a Kids Sewing Camp at El Cajon Sew and Vac. Weekly sewing classes are being offered either at Mary’s home, or your home, provided there are 2-4 students enrolled in class. Classes will meet weekly for one hour,. Students may enroll at any time. Each class is limited to four students, enabling each student to receive personalized sewing instruction. Classes are set up by age group - 6-12, 13-18 or adult. Children will be given an analysis of their sewing abilities on a sewing machine prior to using a machine on their own. The first session will also include locating the parts of a sewing machine, sewing machine maintenance, and sewing machine safety. |

Kathie teaches Free Motion Embroidery on Friday mornings. Learn the art of free-motion embroidery. All you need is a machine that will straight stitch and zigzag. There many other techniques also on the agenda. Come and have fun, make new friends and expand you creative skills. (Some sewing experience needed.) |

Carol teaches Quilting on Fridays and Mondays. She also has a Sewing Workshop on Friday afternoons. Come join one of these fun classes and explore quilting techniques while creating quilts, home décor items and wearable art. This is a great class for beginners and experienced quilt makers. |

Bonnie teaches many software classes using the software by Viking 3D and 4D Package. She is certified by Viking/Husqvarna as a software teacher. This program is identical to the Pfaff software and she welcomes anyone with that software to her classes. Laptops are welcome. Cynthia will be teaching another workshop using shiva paintstiks on fabric. Attendees will learn how to cut a stencil from freezer paper & use texture plates to embellish fabric. Electric Quilt Third Thursday of the Month This class not only teaches all of the tools used in Electric Quilt, it gives you typed instructions for making the quilts that are discussed. In each class we will develop new quilts and use different tools so that you learn how to use all of the features of Electric Quilt. You can bring your laptops to class with you so that you can work on the exercises as we learn these features. JanWold and Jan Mills have worked together to develop the pattern instructions that are part of each class. These instructions include strip sewing directions whenever possible.
