We concentrate on serger techniques and projects -- garment construction (a t-shirt), napkins with a rolled hem stitch, flatlock stitch for seams and decorative stitches. Don't let your Serger sit with nothing to do. Come join us. All levels welcome.

When you see Panini Kabob Grill you can park near that
To the left of Panini Kabob is a wide, grand staircase.
Go up the steps and the Community Room is on the left at the top of the stairs.
The windows of the room are painted with rainbow colors.
The handicap ramp is just to the left of the stairs.

Our focus is on garment sewing techniques and custom fit clothing. We customize patterns for a perfect fit and learn new techniques for garment construction. As our group is growing, this year we will work in teams to practice the inital fitting of the patterns, and a second fitting of the constructed garments.
February 2: Cutting and marking methods for fabric
March 2: Sewing method for slippery fabric
April 6: Interfacing, stabilizing tape-how and when to use.
May 4: Closures and how to apply them to slippery fabric
June 1: Hemming slippery fabrics
July 6: Field trip to L.A.
August 3, September 14, October 5, and November 2: Sewing a reversible quilted jacket.
December 7: Holiday luncheon

An eclectic group, we sew everything from garments to quilts, purses, machine embroidery and baby items for community service. We sometimes bring our sewing machines to work on projects togethers. A materials list and link to patterns for projects is provided.
February 14: Cloth Basket Class by Lisa Moallemi. Bring your supplies and machine to make this project.
March 14: Hooded Towel Class by Pam Savage. Bring your supplies and machine to make this project.
April 11: Field trip to Mengei Museum.
May 9: Microwave cozy bowls class by Phyllis Lockwood & Pam Savage. Bring your supplies and machine to make this project. Melissa Miller will provide batting.
